Machiavelli Orchestra starts his activity in December 2015. It’s the resident ensemble of the Music Season of Fucina Culturale Machiavelli and his theatre, in the heart of Verona.
Young professors for a young audience.
The orchestra is composed by young professors under 35, graduated at E.F. Dall’Abaco Conservatory, finding the way to work with passion and to transmit their love for music especially to young people that never entered in a concert hall.
Main conductor of the orchestra is Sergio Baietta, histrionic pianist and conductor.
Orchestra Machiavelli’s partners
Orchestra Machiavelli, despite his recent birth, already boasts international partnerships with artists like Mimmo de Tullio, Ugly Kid Joe’s Whitfield Crane, the conductor Andrea Battistoni, the Jazz star Jesse Davis. The orchestra performed on several concert halls like Sala Maffeiana and Teatro Ristori in Verona and Teatro Zandonai in Rovereto.
At last, it’s programmed for 2017 a great concert with the legend of clarinet Richard Stoltzmann and his wife Mika.
Beyond genres and styles
The art direction of this orchestra is driven by Pietro Battistoni helped by Rebecca Saggin and Stefano Soardo, founders of FCM. His distinctive figure is the meltin-pot of languages, genres and styles. The repertoire of Orchestra Machiavelli brings the music of the great composers of the past nearby contemporary music and pop, jazz, folk, rock music and so on.
Orchestra Machiavelli performed many premieres of music often dedicated to the ensemble. It commissioned new music to both emerging and affirmed talents of the composing landscape.
Other important characteristic of the original productions of the orchestra is the attention to the theatricality of the concert, to the story-telling, light design, with actors, mimes, video installations and sometimes involving the audience in games and quiz: we like to surprise our people.
